Angel Locsin shares filming experience in Japan

I agree with the show's co-host Charlene Gonzalez-Muhlach that Angel looks very beautiful.  Charlene talked about Aga confirming that the movie script of 'Huling Sayaw' is one of the best script he had received in his career.  I am getting positive vibes about this movie, which is slated to be released in February 2011.


Angel shared in Twitter that she was not feeling last night, which is expected after the grueling filming schedule in Japan.  Angel was met at the airport by her celebrity friends Bubbles Paraiso, Paolo Paraiso, and Chito Miranda.  Thanks to Bubbles for this photo ...

Angel Locsin leaves for Japan to shoot "Huling Sayaw"

Angel Locsin finally left for Japan with Aga Muhlach yesterday morning for filming of their movie "Huling Sayaw" with a target play date in February 2011.

PEP reported in its interview with Aga that he has not done that many scenes yet with Angel.  He noted however that Angel is very hardworking.  He found Angel's schedule very tiring because from filming of their movie, Angel just take a bath and head out again to taping of Imortal. 


Movie Filming.  Aga shared that the scope of this movie is big and very ambitious.  The characters of Angel and Aga were dancers in the past so the movie will show numerous flashbacks.  It will show what happened to dance group members like Manouevers where some got involved in business and others in farming.  Some important scenes will be filmed in Japan where Aga's character will be jailed.  After 8 years, he will go back to his province where Angel stays also.  Their characters will cross the path of a powerful but corrupt local politician.  Obviously, we will expect guns and killings here but I still hope this will not be another typical story.  Red camera is used in filming this movie.  Click here for a sample video shot on the Red.  It is recommended to watch it in HD. 


Dance Scenes.  Apart from Angel's pole dancing, other dances that will be featured in the movie are hip-hop, pasa-doble, tango, and rumba.  A lot of hours are spent in long rehearsals which is normally done from 10 am to 6 pm.  I am looking forward in seeing Angel and Aga fighting it out in tango.  I heard there are similarities between Muay Thai and Argentine tango and we know Angel knows Muay Thai.  I so want to see them intensely dancing with charged emotion challenging each other as the music speed up and intensify till the finale.


Dennies Asaral, a make-up artist, posted in Twitter that other casts who also left for Japan are Joshua Zamora of Manouevers and Michael Flores.  Director Olive Lamasan along with other crews left earlier to do ocular site inspection.  

Angel Locsin to leave for Japan this weekend for filming

Angel Locsin and Aga Muhlach are leaving for Japan this weekend with director Olive Lamasan for location filming of their movie.  This update was confirmed in Twitter by Mico del Rosario, who handles promo of TV shows and movies for Star Cinema.  He advised that the group might stay in Japan for a week.

The plan to shoot in Japan was first announced in last week of June and hopefully this time it will finally push though.  Click here for our related story.  I wonder if the script has been revised to reduce the number of scenes in Japan because Aga mentioned two months ago that they were supposed to film in Japan for 10 days.


If we recall the filming of this movie got delayed because of Aga's prior commitment to complete his movie with Regine Velasquez which we heard still has 6 remaining shooting days.  Viva is planning to release this movie before Regine's wedding in December.  I do hope Angel's movie with Aga will not suffer again to give way to Viva's plan.  We want to see this movie gets released this year.

Aga shared that this movie is difficult to film because of its large scope since it is not only a love story but also involves politics, guns, and dancing.   As we know, Angel and Aga are playing the role of dancers here.  They will be playing their age with many flashbacks.  There is one sequence which they filmed for 3 days but will be screened for less than 50 seconds only.    

Despite the far in between projects, Angel advised that it is fine with her to wait a bit long for the next project because ABS-CBN has been giving her quality projects.  She believes she's past the competition stage.

"I’m already 25. I’m more matured than that. I had my time, right? Now I just go with the flow. As long as the projects assigned to me are above average, I couldn’t care less."

Currently, the iEmmy nominated for best actress is busy taping for Imortal (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) and shooting the movie (Tuesday and Thursday).  Other days are for commercial shoots, pictorials, and other commitments.

I heard that the working title "Huling Sayaw" might be changed but it is not confirmed yet.  Other casts in the movie are Jake Cuenca, Ryan Eigenmann, and Smokey Manaloto.

This was taken from the video clip of the taping of the upcoming TV series, Imortal, of Angel Locsin and John Lloyd Cruz. I would expect that by now you have seen similar photos or video clips countless times since SNN (Showbiz News Ngayon) and other entertainment shows in ABS-CBN have been using the same video clip for over a month now.

If you ask when is the airing date of Imortal? The answer is soon! That is because you will not get any definite answer from ABS-CBN and all they can say is soon.

How about Huling Sayaw, the movie of Angel with Aga Muhlach? The answer is "no play date yet". By the way, ABS-CBN has confirmed yesterday that John Lloyd is going to do a movie with Toni Gonzaga that will be directed by Cathy Garcia Molina and will be released in November.

Perhaps someone can give a calendar to ABS-CBN and Star Cinema because they find it difficult to commit a date when it comes to Angel's projects.

Incidentally, the movie of Gretchen with Angel that was planned for December will be done next year and hopefully a movie also with John Lloyd. Personally, I am not raising my hopes up until I see them happening because ABS-CBN is good in changing plans at midstream.



Going back to the above photo, that was taken during the taping of Imortal's masquerade party scene at the Mansion that is located in the Enclave in Pampanga. I found from Rajo's blog these nice photos of the Mansion and I am re-posting them here so we can have an idea about the location site. Angel Locsin to Film "Huling Sayaw" in Japan Next Week

After months of delay in filming the movie, "Huling Sayaw", of Angel Locsin with Aga Mulach it appears that the shooting is starting to speed up as Aga shared in a press conference for his upcoming TV sitcom two days ago.

In the interview, Aga confirmed that he is leaving with Angel next week for Japan. The first part of the movie will be shot there and expected to film there for 10 days. In this movie, we will see Aga dancing again but more serious than what he did in 'Bagets' movie in the '80s. Aga shared that he needs to lose more pounds than what he did in 'Love Story' in 2007. If he reduced his weight to 160 lbs for that movie, he feels that he needs to reduce his weight to 150 lbs for this movie since as an expert ballroom dancer, he needs to be lean and agile.

"Huling Sayaw" as we gathered is an action-drama and not a typical a love story because it will also involve politics. Angel and Aga are both dancers in this movie so there will be a lot of dance sequences but they are not stripteasers here although the theme will be dark and sensual. They both confirmed that the roles they are going to play are very challenging and some scenes will be difficult since they are entirely different from their past movies.

In preparation, Angel and Aga started meeting from 25th of February for dance rehearsals since they were supposed to begin shooting on 15th of March but did not materialize. To-date, they completed a one day shooting for this movie on 14th of June. Angel did a superb job in her first scene, which involved pole dancing and took her only one take. She was wearing a one-piece suit during her dance sequence.

Prior to filming, Angel underwent rigid training in pole dancing and got bruises. She enrolled in a pole dancing class to train her body to be more flexible and learn the art of sensual fitness routine. Imagine Angel Locsin shifting her weight and limbs through different balance positions while suspended in a pole, and suddenly she grips the pole with her inner thighs and all her limbs are extended upside down. She has also been preparing to become physically fit for the movie by running hard and working out.

In an interview with Angel, she shared that the moviegoers will see her portraying a different character which she has never though of portraying and will do scenes that that will be seen only in this movie because she will not be doing it again. It will be a challenge for her because she will be doing some uncomfortable scenes so it will take a lot of concentration and motivation.

Before the shooting, Angel has already bonded with Aga by having dinner together in a restaurant owned by the family of Cesar Montano. Here are the photos shared by Sunshine through her Twitter account.



Other casts are Jake Cuenca and Ryan Eigenmann under the direction of multi-awarded director, Olive Lamasan. She directed several blockbuster hits and critically acclaimed movies such In My Life, Milan, Madrasta, and Anak. Although this is the first project of Angel with Ms. Olive, Aga has worked with Ms. Olive in the past for "Sana Maulit Muli" that also starred Lea Salonga.

The movie was conceptualized by ABS-CBN unit head Enrico Santos and being produced by Star Cinema. Incidentally, Ms. Olive is also the ABS-CBN's Vice President for Creative.
