ANGEL REPUBLIC RELIEF MISSION IN NOVALICHES

by: angel charmz / twilight angels

Angel Locsin fans club headed by Angel Republic successfully had their first relief mission yesterday October 04 in Novaliches near riverbank. It was reported that some of these families suffered from flood above rooftop level and lost some of their love one's too.

AREP fund drive initiated by Marifaye and Charmz to help Ondoy's victim reaches more than P50,000 in cash coming mostly from the Angel Locsin TFC fans in less than a week. AREP packed more than 400 relief packages which includes 3 kilos of rice,canned goods, coffee , noodles and mineral water.

Feeding program headed by Elena through Gloria's Lugaw fed almost 1000 people together with the volunteers. Aside from their special lugaw, she and her families also provided sago't gulaman for drinks. Angel Locsin International fans club led by Irene also provided medicines and vitamins to the victims that made this relief mission a complete package.

Although Ms Angel Locsin was not able to join the relief mission as she was also busy with Red Cross another relief operation in Marikina, she didn't fail to show her support as she sent more than 400 juice drinks and cup cakes for the victims.

There was a pile as early as 2pm. The joy and excitement was very evident from these people faces. Through the guidance of Angel's ate Ella and cousins, the relief mission was done in order and goods were distributed successfully.

Most volunteers fell into tears as they felt and saw how these people suffer by losing all their properties and family member's brought by the Typhoon Ondoy. Through the darkest moment of their lives they felt the comfort of angels in disguise through the volunteers and those people who extend their hand to help. The fulfillment and realization from these experience is truly incomparable and eye opener.

Angel Locsin becomes an inspiration to all Angel Republic members as she shares her blessings to those in need. This social act won't be the last but the first of more hundred projects of Angel Republic as we share Angel Locsin advocacy on generosity and pro people.

[Video] Angel Locsin Donates P600,000 to Typhoon Victims

We reported previously that Angel Locsin donated half a million pesos to victims of Typhoon Ondoy [click here for the story]. However, Boy Abunda announced in "The Buzz" yesterday that according to his very reliable source, Angel Locsin has donated a very large amount, which amounted to P600,000 as confirmed also by Ruffa Gutierrez. Kris Aquino considered this gesture a very big deal since Angel has no show at the moment and has no assurance when she will start working again.

According to Boy, Angel is a wonderful human being, a responsible citizen of this country, and very consistent in helping out the needy. He cited as an example when Angel went with Gabriela on her birthday.

Ruffa shared that she put in her Twitter account, "I Love Angel Locsin." Ruffa confirmed that Angel is not only unaffected but also very kindhearted. She advised that when Richard Gutierrez went to Marikina on Saturday, Angel was there as well. So, on the first day of the typhoon, Angel had already started helping out. Ruffa pleaded to stop the bad press about Angel. Ruffa also shared that Angel is cooking a meal for the typhoon victims. She came to know about it because her hairdresser is helping Angel with the cooking.

We are so proud of you Angel not only because of the big amount you donated, but also in inspiring other celebrities and privileged individuals in providing support as well as devoting your time and effort for the relief operation.

We agree with Boy that you are a very wonderful individual. That's why like Ruffa, you are loved by many not only by your fans because you touch lots of hearts. You are truly beautiful not only on your outward appearance but inside your heart as well. Mabuhay ka Angel!

[Article] Angel Locsin is Red Cross Ambassador

It was reported earlier that fans of Angel Locsin were planning for a second relief operation [click here for the story] which they did yesterday afternoon in Navotas. I will blog about it later. Our very own Twilight Angels, angel charmz and janel23 of AREP, hopefully will be blogging about their personal experience.

During the relief operation, angel charmz heard the news that Angel Locsin is now a Red Cross Ambassador. We learned that Angel Locsin was not able to join the relief operation of her fans because she was in Marikina at that time with Red Cross. Also in cooperation with Folded and Hung, a Red Cross shirt will be retailed in their outlet with proceeds to be donated to the victims of Typhoon Ondoy. Perhaps this is part of the Samaritan Fund the store is launching for Red Cross.

The fans of Angel Locsin in pinoyexchange.com forum in Angel Republic's (AREP) thread have collected P50,018 in cash to-date on their fund drive for the Typhoon Ondoy's victims. Other fans have also donated medicines and groceries as well as their time in doing volunteer work for the victims. The collected cash will be used in buying rice and bottled water for 400 families.

As earlier reported, Angel Locsin organized a relief operation together with ABS-CBN stars in Payatas on 28th of Sept 2009 (click here for the story). The second relief operation of Angel Locsin this time with her fans will be conducted later, 4th of Oct 2008.

Angel Locsin with her "Only You" family, fans and friends started doing the packing at 12:00 PM and worked continuously for 3 to 6 hours on 28th of Sept. 2009.

Angel Locsin is truly an inspiration not only to her fans but to everyone who is unselfishly generous in providing financial help, time, and effort. Mabuhay ka Angel Locsin!

Many thanks also to all the fans, friends, and kababayan who unselfishly provided help in cash and in kind as well as prayers for the typhoon victims.

[Article] Angel Locsin Donates Half a Million to Typhoon Ondoy Victims

I found this article from cd's blog about Angel Locsin's generosity. Because of twitter, it is now well known how Angel been generous not only financially but with her time and effort unselfishly.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It’s not the amount of money that counts but the genuine concern to help people that matters. Nevertheless, it’s interesting to note how big stars get big amounts from their talent fees to donate to the typhoon victims.
Typhoon Ondoy brought havoc in Mega Manila last Saturday leaving thousands homeless because of the worst flood that it caused.
Both ABS-CBN and GMA-7 held a telethon to raise funds for the typhoon victims. A number of stars volunteered for the two telethons in their gesture to lend a helping hand.
According to reports, the current Darna star Marian Rivera has donated P100,000 to the Kapuso Foundation yesterday for the typhoon Ondoy victims.
On the other hand, the former Darna star Angel Locsin has donated a whopping P500,000.00 for the typhoon victims. And since she is not busy with a tv or movie project at the moment, Angel reportedly roved the streets of the Metro to personally ask for more donations for the typhoon victims.
The two Darna stars have proven that they are not only heroes on the tv screen but also heroes in real life. Regardless of the amount that they have donated, the two stars truly shown a gesture of concern to the people who admires them, specially the “masa”, and that’s the more important thing.
[Article] Angel Locsin, unang nag-abot ng tulong kay Cristine
Nililinis pa rin hanggang ngayon ang binahang bahay ni Cristine Reyes sa Provident Village pero ang ikinagulat nila ng humupa ang baha ay naglipana naman ang mga ahas sa loob ng kanilang bahay.
Kahit pa nalubog sa baha ang bahay ay wala silang balak ibenta ito dahil may sentimental value umano ito sa kanila.
Nalaman din namin na magkapitbahay pala sina Ara Mina at Angel Locsin, at unang nag-volunteer daw ang dalaga na puntahan nila at tulungan si Cristine.
“Sabi ni Angel puntahan namin si Cristine at dadalhin daw niya ‘yung Hammer niya. Sabi ko hindi rin puwede dahil lulubog din sa laki ng baha ang sasak-yan ni Angel at lulubog din kami, ‘di ba? Kaya hanggang doon lang kami sa labas na walang baha. Nagkita yata sila ni Richard at dahil may speedboat itong dala at siya na lang ang pumunta at naghintay na lang kami ni Angel sa sasakyan,” kuwento ni Ara.
“Kapitbahay ko kasi si Angel at siyempre nag-aalala siya nang mabalitaan niya ang lagay ni Cristine at isa talaga siya sa mga tumulong. Na-appreciate namin ‘yun. Mabait si Angel,” say pa ni Ara.
Dahil safe na ang kapatid at magulang ay nag-iikot naman ngayon si Ara para tumulong sa mga kababa-yang nasalanta ng bagyo sa Quezon City at sa Marikina para makatulong.
Hindi naman umano galit si Ara sa naging mabagal na aksiyon ni MMDA Chairman Bayani Fernando nang humingi siya ng tulong para sagipin ang kapatid sa Marikina.
Naiintindihan daw niya na kaya hindi agad nakagawa ng aksiyon si Fernando ay marami rin daw itong tinulungan nu’ng time na humingi siya ng saklolo.
[Article] Angel Locsin and Star Magic talents conduct relief operations in Payatas
ABS-CBN stars, led by channel Head Cory Vidanes, visited the hardest-hit areas in Metro Manila to distribute relief goods to victims of typhoon Ondoy (international codename: Ketsana).
Last night, September 28, Showbiz News Ngayon aired videos of Kapamilya stars as they helped people living in the Payatas dump site. Among those who went to Brgy. Bagong Silangan in Payatas were Piolo Pascual, Zanjoe Marudo, Maricar Reyes, Shaina Magdayao, and Serena Dalrymple.
With regards to the tragedy, Zanjoe simply said, "Ganun talaga ang nangyari. Wala tayong magagawa, so ang pinaka-ano na lang, tumulong."
Maricar, on the other hand, urged people to act immediately and help those in need. "One cannot express how sad one feels for these people. Pero pag ganito, kailangan nang umaksyon."
Shaina pointed out, "Nakakagaan ng feeling na nase-share namin ang blessings namin. Pag nangyari ang mga ganitong panahon, artista ka man o hindi, pantay-pantay na lang talaga pag ganito."
ANGEL'S INTIATIVE. For her part, Angel Locsin has been actively participating in the relief operations. "Ilang araw na akong rumoronda at nakikita ko... Iba yung mga taga-rito kasi yung mga taong nakatira dito, never naman sila naka-experience ng maginhawang buhay. Sila yung mga walang second floor na mapupuntahan."
Angel spearheaded a text brigade asking her colleagues to help typhoon victims. "Nag-text po ako kina Tita Mariolle [Alberto, head of Star Magic] and pinapunta nila yung mga Star Magic artists. Nagulat ako at hindi ko po ine-expect. Kaninang umaga, nagulat ako at may coaster tapos nakita ko na sina Piolo, sina Maricar... Thank you sa pagsuporta."
While Angel was organizing the relief operations, little did anyone know that Angel's own sibling almost became a casualty of the recent typhoon. "Almost two days rin siya na-stranded. Nung nakita siya, punong-puno na siya ng putik. Siyempre, medyo nataranta ako kung anong uunahin pero kung kaya mo namang ipagsabay, bakit hindi, di ba?
Other celebrities who helped distribute the goods courtesy of ABS-CBN Foundation were Candy Pangilinan and director GB Sampedro.
[Article] Showbiz's Good Samaritans
This week, with the help of Netizens, we're able to post photos of celebrities caught in the act of helping the victims of typhoon Ondoy.
There's Gerald Anderson, who braved deep flood waters to check on his neighbors in Vista Real Classica, Quezon City (CLICK HERE to read related article).
There's Jericho Rosales, who rescued an old lady, a young boy, and a dog with the aid of his surfboard (CLICK HERE to read related article).
We laud their acts of heroism. We salute them for becoming the face of hope, generosity, and kindness in this time of crisis.
Some didn't want to be conspicuous about the efforts, and chose to help sans media and publicity.
There's KC Concepcion whose donation drive inspired other celebs to follow suit.
There's Angel Locsin who's "walang kiyeme at walang arte" when it comes to sorting, packing, and handing relief goods to the needy.
There's Richard Gomez waking up early to participate in the clean-up drive.
And a lot of Kapuso and Kapamilya stars volunteering in the telethon, joining donation campaigns, and spending time with the victims.
To all celeb heroes out there, bravo...and thank you!
