[Poll] VOTE for Angel Locsin in Shorty (Twitter Global Awards)

"Hollywood has the Oscars. Broadway has the Tonys. Now Twitter has the...Shorty Awards"

- The New York Times

Had I been the writer, I would have added, "Television has the Emmys."

The Shorty awards are for the Twitter community where winners are voted online by sending a tweet. The 2nd annual Shorty Awards nomination process has commenced. In February, the nominees will be narrowed down to 5 finalists in each category. Winners will be determined by a combination of popular vote and by the members of the new Real-Time Academy of Short Form Arts & Sciences.

An awards ceremony, complete with 140-character acceptance speeches, will be held in March in New York City. The previous year's ceremony has been a star-studded event and has been extensively covered by media where winners flew in from around the world.

This year, Angel Locsin has been nominated for a Shorty awards.

To vote, send a tweet like this:

"I nominate @143redangel for a Shorty award in #celebrity because she is an iEmmy finalist & active in humanitarian causes."

Note: It is important to give a reason after "because" since it will not be counted if left blank.

Multiple voting will just replace your old tweet and will be counted only once.

Note that @143redangel is the real account of Angel Locsin in Twitter.

You can send your tweet on Twitter or use the voting box on Shorty's website. Click the image below to enlarge.

After voting, retweet the nomination of Angel Locsin to your followers and encourage them to help Angel win this award. Let's unite and work hard to ensure that we will see Angel again walk at the red carpet in New York!

Angel is currently ranked at number 2 under the 'celebrity' category. At present, Angel has accumulated 727 votes. The 1st placer (Nathan Fillion) has 1,529 votes while the 3rd placer (Ivete Sangalo) is closing fast the gap with 660 votes. To get the latest ranking, click here.

Here are the voting procedures, rules, and the process in winner selection. Again, click the image to enlarge.
