[News] Angel Locsin in the Spotlight in Nov-09

The month November is almost over so I need to clear out this month's news from my draft folder. I want to do it in one go so I will just hit the highlights. Angel has been featured frequently in the news the whole month. This is a summary of main topics discussed relating to her.

Shows and Movies

• Your Song. Angel will have a one-month stint in Your Song with Alessandra de Rossi and possibly with Derek as love interest. I heard Angel and her partner in Your Songwill have a TVC photo shoot in Bangkok next month.

• Station ID. Fans have become more excited after seeing the powerful chemistry between Angel and John Lloyd in their short stint in front of the camera in ABS-CBN's Christmas Staton ID.
  

• TV series with JLC. According to John Lloyd Cruz, this suspense drama thriller TV series with Angel is a little bit on the sexy side. Angel will play a role here similar to catwoman's.

• Kokey@Ako. Inclusion of Angel Locsin in the sequel of ABS-CBN hit 2007 fantaserye Kokey this time with Vhong Navarro came out as a surprise since she was expected to star in a TV series with JLC. In this show, the friendly alien Kokey will return to the small screen with Nova Villa and Gloria Romero as supporting casts.

• Super Inggo at ang Super Tropa. As Super Inggo returns to the television in animated form via Super Inggo at and Super Trop, animated version of Angel Locsin, Anne Curtis, Bea Alonzo, John Lloyd Cruz, Piolo Pascual, Sam Milby, and Toni Gonzaga join the superhero for the pilot episode on 11.22.09 at 10:15 AM.

• May Bukas Pa. Angel is set to appear as guest in "May Bukas Pa" playing a role which is similar to her screen name.

• Movie with Aga Muhlach. Shooting will start in January 2010 which will be directed by Olive Lamasan, who replaced Cathy G. Molina since the latter is busy with other projects like directing the current movie of JLC and Bea Alonzo. This film of Aga and Angel is considered by people in the film industry as dream project. In this film, Aga confirmed that the story is kind of edgy and not typical. He will be playing the role of a priest here. He also confirmed that he was supposed to start the movie with Angel first before the movie with Regine. Aga further confirmed that his movie with Angel almost did not push through because something happened along the way. The concept of the story has been changed too but it is for the better.

Advocacy

• Gabriella. Angel has been given "Gawad Gabriela" recognition, for her consistent support to Gabriela's advocacy, on its 25th anniversary on 10.28.2009.

• Shop and Share. An online auction of items owned by celebrities project conceptualized by Angel Locsin and now spearheaded with Anne Curtis. Full proceeds for typhoon victims though Philippine Red Cross. Since it started, Shop and Share has made $15,000. Angel considers a Hermes Kelly and YSL bag the most important items she has donated. She has auctioned off 14 other treasured items. Angel and Anne are now Red Cross Ambassador together with Gerald Anderson. Kris Aquino and other celebrities admire Angel Locsin's acts of generosity.

Endorsements

• Sam in F&H. Fans of Sam and Angel tandem, which gained a big following in the remake of "Only You" koreanovela , are looking forward in seeing them together again this time in billboards and print ads for Folded and Hung who left Bench and now has joined F&H that is coincidentally being endorsed by Angel.

• P3.5M Endorsement Fee. Angel earns P3.5M (net of tax) for each endorsement. As she has several endorsements at present although she does not have any on-going project with ABS-CBN, Angel can still live comfortably.

• Mosbeau Philippines. Angel has signed a contract to endorse Mosbeau White and Placenta White.

Recognition

• iEmmy. Nomination as Best Actress in the 37th International Emmy Awards for the lead role of Lyka in Lobo (The Wolf). I have posted several blogs on this topic so if you want to know more, just browse the previous pages or use the search option at the middle right of this page.

• KINSE Sexiest Female. Angel has been declared as the "Sexiest Female in Philippine Cinema" on 11.15.09 at Cine One's KINSE Viewers' Choice Awards. Click here for our story.

Personal

• Break-up. Angel confirmed her breakup with Luis Manzano. After a few months of non-communication, they have started talking again and trying to preserve the friendship. Angel assured that her breakup with Luis will not affect her bond with Vilma Santos. If Ate Vi needs her support, she is will not hesitate in providing it. Angel said she is not yet ready to entertain suitors.
  

• Building. A building is under construction where Angel plans to setup an office especially now that she has been busy with her project, Shop and Share. Angel plans to rent out the space in the building when completed.
