MANILA – Amid persistent rumor about her purported impending transfer to Viva Films, Angel Locsin finally set the record straight on “The Buzz” Sunday.

Locsin maintained that she remains a Kapamilya star and one of Star Cinema’s contract artists.

“Kagagaling ko lang sa isang matinding transfer. Wala po akong planong pagdaanan ulit ang mga pinagdaanan ko noon,” Locsin said, referring to her controversial move to ABS-CBN from rival network GMA 7 in 2007.

When she first heard the rumor, she said she laughed it off and dismissed it as a joke.

“Tapos nabasa ko na nga sa dyaryo. Hindi naman natin masisisi ‘yong taong nagsulat noon kasi ang tagal nga nilang hindi ako nakikita sa TV. Pero hindi po, walang katotohanan ‘yon,” she said.

The actress admitted though that she regretted turning down Regal Films’ “Mano Po 6.” She explained that it is her dream to work with Megastar Sharon Cuneta.

Locsin was supposed to play Cuneta’s daughter in the movie but due to her busy schedules Locsin’s camp had declined the offer. The role went to Heart Evangelista, a former ABS-CBN star.

“Pero anytime bukas ang pinto ko. Sana lang po huwag magsarado ang pinto niyo,” she said.

Speculation about her leaving Star Cinema surfaced after Claudine Barretto signed a two-film contract with Viva Films. Barretto's decision caught many by surprise since she is a long-time talent of ABS-CBN.

Barretto, however, assured that she remains a Kapamilya and that she just "wants a little freedom" to pursue film projects.

Projects

Locsin was one of GMA 7’s biggest stars when she signed an exclusive contract with ABS-CBN.

Since her transfer, the actress did one movie under Star Cinema, “Love Me Again (Land Down Under),” where she was paired with Piolo Pascual. She also played the female leads in “Only You” and “Lobo” and appeared in two episodes of “Maalaala Mo Kaya.”

On top of her numerous TV guestings, she also hosts musical variety show “ASAP ’09” along with other ABS-CBN talents.

Reports said Star Cinema has already lined up two projects for her this year. She will reportedly be paired with Aga Muhlach in one film. Chito Roño will reportedly direct her other movie project.
