[Awards] Angel Locsin Receives Award for Lobo in Malacanang Today

Angel Locsin along with Direk Cathy Garcia Molina received the Ani ng Dangal for Multimedia Award from NCAA (National Commission for Culture and the Art's) for Lobo today in Malacanang Palace's Rizal Hall. President Gloria Arroyo has been reported here to grace the affair to honor Filipino artists for upholding Filipino artistic excellence in the international stage.

As we previously reported here, Lobo won in 2009 Banff Word Television Festival in Canada and Angel Locsin earned an international recognition from Emmy awards as one of the 4 Best Actress finalists for her lead role in Lobo (The Wolf). Lobo has won also several awards locally.


The 2nd "Ani ng Dangal Awards" is organized by the NCAA in line with the celebration of the National Arts Month this February, as per Presidential Proclamation 683 of 1991.

[Videos] Cognac Wellerlane Interviews Angel Locsin at the iEmmy Awards Gala

Between a group of people who attended the event and a group who based their observation on videos and pictures, I would always go for first hand account of the event.

As previously blogged here, Angel's first walk at the red carpet with international celebrities made a buzz and she was one amongst crowd favorite as reported by http://ego.globo.com (click here for English translation), New Jersey-based Filipino Express, ABS-CBN North America News Bureau, and fans' testimonies.

Thanks to the tip of vkim3111@PEx/Twilight Angels forum, I saw a video of Angel being interviewed by Cognac Wellerlane, a US TV personality/actress/model. She was recently cast as a glamorous socialite in "The Devil Wears Prada" film and a society lady for an off Broadway Pulitzer prize winning, "A Time of your Life." If you read Cognac's article here, you will notice that Angel has also captured her interest since it is Angel's picture that is shown at the top of the page with the second picture focusing on her gown. It appears Cognac likes the gown as well.

[Video] Complete Set of Lobo Videos

When I created the channel of Twilight Angels in youtube, I was lucky to find the complete set of videos of Lobo (The Wolf). It took a bit of time for me in collecting all the videos for our channel's playlist because I tended to watch the scenes that were memorable for me.

Perhaps, it was a good omen because two days later, it was announced that the lead actress, Angel Locsin, has been nominated in the 37th International Emmy Awards' Best Performance by an Actress category where winners will be announced on 23rd of Nov-2009. It is noteworthy to mention that this is the second international recognition that has been received by Lobo because the show itself won the Best Telenovela award in the 30th BANFF World Television Festival in Canada in June 2009. This channel aims to collect all videos uploaded or created for Angel Locsin so that fans can go to one channel and watch all her videos. I created two playlists for Lobo (Lobo 1 and Lobo 2) because one playlist can contain only 200 videos.
