Toni Replaces Angel Locsin in Kokey @ Ako; Angel Sizzles this Summer in F&H

This is just a quick post of information I got from Twitter today. These are all new so I can't wait to blog them.


Toni Gonzaga in Kokey @ Ako

Eric John Salut, adprom account head for a business unit in ABS-CBN TV production, confirmed today in Twitter that Toni Gonzaga will do Kokey @ Ako, which I heard from another source will start in June. I asked for confirmation from Darla Sauler but for some reason she did not reply because she normally does with this type of question.

I read also before in STIR that Angel was asked by her new manager, Ethel Ramos, if she would still do Kokey @ Ako as she will be busy doing the movie with Aga. The following day, the same site reported that Angel and Star Cinema have decided to still do Kokey @ Ako. Oh well, as I mentioned before, plans of ABS-CBN are not set in stone and can change at the last minute regardless of a trailer being shown already in TV.

Anyway, this latest update means Angel will concentrate on her TV series with John Lloyd Cruz and movie with Aga Mulach. These are the original plans anyway and I am happy that they are finally pushing through after months of waiting.


Angel Locsin Sizzles this Summer with Folded and Hung

I always like photos of Angel Locsin with Folded and Hung because they have fab concept and this time, they did not disappoint me with these latest set of photos, which Angel shared herself in Twitter. A few months ago, Angel's weight had been a hot topic even among fans but seeing Angel in these photos tells us that she is back in fighting form!












Yeah, Angel looks gorgeously hot in above photos.

Here's another photo shared also by Angel from her hotel room few weeks ago. DJ Mo Twister described Angel as "insanely hot" in his blog HERE especially since this photo was obviously taken using a phone camera and not professionally done.

[Article] GMA Lifts News Blackout on Angel Locsin

After the interview of Angel Locsin in the Buzz on the 3rd of this month, the courtship of CNN hero Efren Peñaflorida became a hot topic in media, news prints, and Internet’s blogs & forums. What interest me more is the lifting of news blackout on Angel by her former station, GMA Network. Angel's supporters got a big surprise on the news reported by GMA's 'Chika Minute', '24 Oras' and Saksi. That’s BIG news indeed!

My search of videos from the site of GMA News TV revealed that except for this week's report on Angel, the GMA Network reported Angel-related news 870 days ago.



Let's hope that this week's report on Angel by GMA Network is only a beginning and not an exception. Here's the tweet sent by Kapuso7 to Angel last month.

This week is full of news about Angel's love life. SNN reported on the 7th the video interview of Angel talking about the courtship of Efren, communication with Luis again, and Chito Miranda of 'Parokya ni Edgar' as merely a friend. News this week is not all about Angel's suitors. As shown above by TV Patrol on the 6th, Angel looks gorgeous at the teaser pictorial for Kokey@Ako. Angel mentioned in The Buzz interview that there is no definite date for the airing of the show. Manila Bulletin reported a few days later that a new show will premiere in February 2010 and it is a toss up between Kokey@Ako and Rubi. For our story on Kokey@Ako, click here.

By now, the fans are already aware that Angel will be doing a fantaserye, Kokey@Ako, first prior to her teleserye with John Lloyd Cruz, which was supposed to start in March 2010 and now seems to have been moved to the 2nd quarter. With ABS-CBN, plans are not set in stone hee.

Before posting the related videos and news, let me do a recap of what to expect from Kokey@Ako from what have been published to-date:

• Cast: Angel Locsin, Vhong Navarro, Gloria Romero, Nova Villa, Carla Humphries, Maxene Magalona, Chokoleit
  
• Director/Business Unit Head: Wenn Deramas/Lauren Dyogi
• Role: Jackie, a news reporter who will help Kokey in searching for his baby sister and save earthlings from evil aliens. Vhong will play the character of Bruce, a cameraman who will fall in love with Jackie. Carla Humphries will play Angel Locsin's rival as star reporter of their station, who is also her former classmate, and feels threatened with Angel because it is the latter who gets a scoop first. Gloria Romero owns the network where Jackie and Carla work.
  
• Timeline: Taping will start on 15th of December. It will premiere on the 25th of January 2010, taking over the timeslot of "May Bukas Pa"

Angel reluctant to star in new 'fantaserye?'

MANILA - Fresh from her experience at the 37th international Emmy Awards in New York, Angel Locsin attended the story conference for her upcoming teleserye “Kokey @ Ako” at the ABS-CBN compound last Monday.

A lot of people were actually surprised that she accepted the “fantaserye” right after her International Emmy nomination. Some said she should do another drama series that might give her another international recognition.

Locsin explained that joining “Kokey @ Ako” is her way of trying new roles and getting out of her comfort zone. This way, she added, she will be able to improve her craft.

“Ayoko din naman na pare-pareho ‘yong ginagawa ko para naman mahasa din ako. Kasi siyempre ang acting, learning experience din. Ayaw mo naman ma-stuck sa isang aspeto lang,” said the actress, who’s been in the industry for almost 8 years.

She added that “Kokey’s” storyline is “very interesting.”

“Tapos in-explain nila sa akin na hindi lang ito basta fantasy show….Madami kayong matututunang aral dito. Lalo na sa nangyaring Bagyong Ondoy at Pepeng. Kailangan natin turuan ang bata, maski tayong matatanda, kung papano alagaan ang environment,” she said.

Locsin will be playing the role of Jackie, a news reporter who will be involved in Kokey’s search for his missing baby sister as well his mission to save earthlings from a new set of evil aliens.

“Masaya ako dahil medyo matagal na akong hindi nakakalabas sa TV. And excited din ako kasi karamihan ng shows na nagagawa ko noon ay pambata. Tapos balik pambata ulit ako,” she said.

It will also give her a chance to work with directors Lauren Dyogi and Wenn Deramas and actor-comedian Vhong Navarro, she said. The actress said she is excited to work with Navarro, her new leading man.

During the story conference, Navarro kept telling Locsin that he’s “lucky” to have her as his leading lady, but the latter merely laughed at his funny antics.

When asked if she feels awkward with such references to her former boyfriend Luis “Lucky” Manzano, Locsin was quick to say that she’s already used to Navarro’s sense of humor.

Both Locsin and Navarro had done fantasy series in the past. Locsin was the lead star of "Lobo," while Navarro's last fantasy show was "Lastikman.”

The actor-comedian, who started as a member of dance group "Street Boys," said he will play the character of Bruce, a cameraman who will eventually fall in love with Jackie (Locsin).

The taping for “Kokey @ Ako” will start on December 15. It will premiere on ABS-CBN in January 2010, taking over the timeslot of hit teleserye “May Bukas Pa.”

I did not watch the 1st Kokey so I cannot say much about this upcoming sequel. Let me share instead the POV of my regular chat mate in the shoutbox. Many thanks angeladik!

hopefully with the Kokey appearance ABS means well meaning this is to hone further Angel in this genre.like i've seen Angel can turn it on but still the comedy shld be situational free flowing ..Sam and Angel would be cute doing a romcom actually but we all know its not happening soon but we have Vhong who is a more of the comedian looks more like a family comedy to me than a romcom even

if I think Angel and Vhong will be the loveteam here. Vhong is Kokey?? well lets see about that. like Santino, Kokey is a hit with kids and we know the kids misses their superheroine in Angel

Vhong I think also has a way of charming kids so with Angel and the kids as target market this shld not be a problem for sure ..like I said hopefully its a well written show. maybe the comedy light drama version of May Bukas Pa with its moral real life lessons would be good for Kokey's return

May Bukas Pa am sure has already served well its intentions it'd be good to continue its mission with what's happening we need to do more for the kids our future ..will be very happy if that's how Kokey returns and Angel will be a big part in it

I'm alright with Kokey and the cast I see so far. it'll bring out the lovable endearing side of Angel another reason we love her and she doesn't need any hype

I think Kokey is like a break also for Angel and with Vhong around expect a very relaxed atmosphere I think conducive for the genre light drama and comedy.
